Caring for Generations was a Foundation for Thomas Health campaign to build the Thomas Health Pavilion. Supporting the hospital and community, the Thomas Health Auxiliary pledged $500,000 to the campaign. The Auxiliaries of Saint Francis and Thomas Memorial Hospitals are organized as separate 501c3 organizations. Their purpose is to provide support for both hospitals in serving our patients and community. The Auxiliaries accomplish this through serving as in service volunteers throughout the hospital. They escort patients, staff the Information Desk and Surgery Waiting Desk, serve in the gift shops, deliver mail and flowers and assist various departments in completing office duties. The Auxiliaries also contribute financially to both facilities. Their biggest source of funds comes from sales in the gift shops. Both Auxiliaries also hold numerous fundraising sales throughout the year. According to Mary Williams, Director of Volunteer Services, the impact of both Auxiliaries is tremendous. “Not only do our Auxiliaries contribute funds to worthwhile hospital projects, their gifts of time and talent help make a positive experience for our patients and visitors.” Over 10 years through volunteer-driven fundraisers and Thomas Memorial Hospital gift shop proceeds, the Auxiliary completed their pledge in November 2017. The Thomas Health Auxiliary is an essential part of the hospital system.
